Mitchell Robinson

Mitchell Robinson was born in the summer of – ˜85 and lived out his next 14 years in the town of Oakfield, New York, a place where cows outnumber humans. Thanks to countless hours spent watching the Discovery Channel, he was nicknamed “Discovery Boy– by his classmates in fourth grade. In 2004, he graduated from Pavilion High School with 79 other kids who grew up in the boondocks.

He is currently attending college in Syracuse, New York, majoring in environmental and civil engineering. He volunteers as a math tutor for high school kids, and is actively involved in Engineers Without Borders, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of folks worldwide by constructing “sustainable systems– and by providing training to help maintain these systems.

He played basketball and baseball in high school and continues to play them both in college (just intramurals though, because, let's not kid ourselves, he's not that good). Hiking, camping, kayaking, and mountain biking also rock his world. Through his brother, he has recently found a new hobby: photography. Traveling the globe has been, and always will be, a passion of his.

One day, he hopes, Americans won't see a devastated region of the world on CNN, say how sad it is, and then just turn the channel.
